This program is not so complicated, as 3D Studio Max is, for example, and each can learn the main (basic) skills, simply having read the help of the program. This article will be oriented on the little-known PhotoShop sides, on special effects creation, on colour correction and on many other things that are extremely useful for the people working with this program.
In general, the PhotoShop tasks can be sectioned into two parts. The first is most known as a transformative task, to which we can relate a photomontage, creation of special effects and other bright functions, to which pay attention the beginners first of all. Doubtlessly, this part of PhotoShop is done excellently and it gives no rise to unfavourable criticism. (Those who mastered the photomontage in this programme will never trust to photos in the newspapers any more. There are such perfectly done photos that nobody will be able to distinguish them from original ones).
The second part though it is more difficult and less impressive, but it is extremely useful. These are the tools of colour correction in PhotoShop. They are rather balanced, and if you are going to make, for example, publicity leaflet for the corporation, it will be necessary to master them just for the result.
At once we should say that we shall start from the work with the text. Why? At first, it is the simplest part; secondly it is most often used. Let's begin with the most widespread problem of the program. How to write on a circle (or on any other given curve)? Alas, the authors have not decided this problem, yet. We advise to find the program from Đ•xtensis — Photographics. This is a powerful solution built under PhotoShop and integrated in it by the way of the filter. There this problem is resolved very well. But alas, it not is accessible to everybody because of the different causes, therefore we shall try though how to fill this gap with standard PhotoShop means.
This way is not the most time sparing, but it is very simple on engineering. Taking into account that the most popular inscription on a circle is applied at creation of emblems, this way justifies itself only by that inscriptions are small as a rule.
So, we shall start with creation. Let's create the new file of the arbitrary sizes. It would be desirable to pay your attention that the visible size on the screen monitor and actual size differ mush even then, when in a window the size of a picture is indicated as absolute. The cause is that the screens monitor images one point of the picture on one point of the screen monitor. Your file can have different definition and, therefore, look of the different sizes. You should not believe your eyes, and you should look at numbers. Then it is necessary to create area of Marquee of the round shape (using the tool «Elliptical Marquee", having a hotkey "M"), then you should put in the "Parameters" menu fixed coefficient 1/1 and to fill it with any colour. Further by pressing the keys "Ctrl+D" or double click of the left-hand key of the mouse we shall undo Marquee (as in PhotoShop Marquee, as, however, and almost everywhere, plays a role of limitation of editing area ). Let's remark, there is no other way to make primitive figures in PhotoShop no, first of all for the reason, what is a program for edition of exclusively image graphics. But if you need to have ready geometrical figures, take advantage of Adob Illustrator, which is well integrated with PhotoShop, or, for space saving on the disk, PhotoGraphics from Extensis. Then, using the "text" tool, write any word. In our case the word "PhotoShop". If you haven’t indicated a type size and letters correctly, take advantage of transformation of the picture (keyboard hotkey Ctrl + T). It is very useful tool. Click the right mouse key inside the area of transformation — and now you can select a mode. Let's not describe them now, they are intuitively clear.
In PhotoShop the very important place is taken by work with in layers. If you will open "Layers" panel you, will see, that there are two of them .First it is a background with a circle, second — the text. We shall make practically nothing, if we shall not draw them. Because that for the majority of operations we need raster (that is described in points) object, and the type isn’t a raster object. Therefore we shall find on a layer of the text the letter T and, having clicked the right key, we shall select "layer rendering ". Now it is possible to start our main work. Let's take the tool «rectangular Marquee» and allocate the "P" letter.
Then click Ctrl+Shift and move the letter a little higher, to an edge of a circle. See, as the Marquee has clasped the letter. Now pass in a transformation mode and begin to turn the letter. Pay attention to a point in a centre. It is that place, around which the rotation is realized. Move the letter in a necessary direction before obtaining result, satisfying you. It is good that you work in one layer. It is much easier, than to cut and to paste letters by usage of commands from the " edit" menu .To carve and to paste ("Ctrl+X", "Ctrl+V") accordingly. Establish the remaining letters as on the first example. It seems, it is ready now.
Having passed this most easy stage, we shall try to create something more composite and more beautiful. As we would like to interest beginners to work in PhotoShop, and those, having definite skills at using this program. We shall compose the description of simple effects with the descriptions of more composite and more colourful capabilities.
And first such effect is an inscription made by blood.
For the beginning create a sample of the arbitrary size. Having convinced, that the picture is in the necessary mode, namely in RGB, we shall start with our work. Fill a working area by black colour also write the text. We shall work with a word "adobe". If you from the first time could not indicate the necessary type size, you‘d better address to the beginning of this article, where it is told about the size editing and tilt of the text. Having written the text by white colour, having moved it is closer to a top, as we need a place below for work, we shall break to a following stage. We open the panel with the description of layers and, as well as in former, case we transfer our text in the raster picture (we click the right key of the mouse on the "T" letter and we choose of layer rendering). Then we paste together our layers. It is better to work with the keyboard, therefore we offer you to execute this operation, having clicked "Ctrl+E" keys, however you are able to do it by this way: to indicate by the mouse in menu bar "layer" and then to select "merge layers ".
The first preparation stage is finished, and we transfer to following, to creation of the effect.
Now we have little to do — to give out inscription a really bloody colour. In a Photoshop in general there is a very rich toolkit on work with a range of colours. Well for now we shall make it, not investigating the essence. We offer you to make it as follows:

8. Now it is possible to fill the area of our Marquee with eligible colour. We have selected red.
It would be desirable to say that is not necessary to stop on a red colour only and on recommended values and proportions of used filters, as it will reduce your capabilities, and you see actually this effect is rather colourful and interesting. Experiment, find capabilities, colour, illuminating intensity, brightness, which will be close to you.
